Sport mourns Jobie Dajka

Australian Institute of Sport Director Professor Peter Fricker today said the passing of former track cyclist Jobie Dajka was a deeply sad loss.

'On behalf of the AIS, I extend sincere condolences to those close to Jobie,' Professor Fricker said.

'He spent six years on AIS scholarship and showed enormous talent, including winning AIS Junior Athlete of the Year in 1999.  

'Our sympathy is extended to his relatives, friends and the cycling community as they grieve at this difficult time.'
