Thomas records new personal best in 400-metre hurdles
Australian Institute of Sport athlete Tristan Thomas continues to impress, finishing second in the 400-metre hurdles with a new personal best of 48.68 seconds, at Japan’s Osaka Grand Prix on Saturday 9 May 2009.
Thomas sliced 0.18 of a second off his previous personal best of 48.86 seconds, recorded at the Sydney Track Classic earlier this year.
He was just 0.08 of a second behind reigning world champion, Beijing Olympic Games silver medallist Kerron Clement of the USA.
The 22-year-old athlete is fast becoming a major force on the international scene and has recently been training alongside dual 400-metre hurdles world champion Jana Rawlinson. He is currently preparing for the IAAF World Championships in Athletics, which takes place in Berlin from 15–23 August 2009.
