Troode ready for final of World University Games 400m
AIS scholarship holder Christopher Troode will compete in tonight’s World University Games 400-metre men’s final.
The final is expected to be a close affair with Troode having recorded the second-fastest time of the year (45.79 seconds). Japan’s Yuzo Kanemaru has the season’s best time (a slick 45.16 seconds).
Troode commenced athletics during his school years, although he tried his hand at many other sports. At 15 he joined Melville Districts Little Athletics Club where he focused on the sprint disciplines. Now, competing in the 400 metres, Troode is making a name for himself over longer distances.
Victory at the World University Games would provide Troode with a huge boost heading into next year’s Commonwealth Games.
