Oxy recognises the value and importance that sport plays in the development and lives of young Australian male athletes.

Oxy is one of the leading suppliers of skin care products for young Australian males, many who are actively involved in organised sport.

This is one reason why the Oxy Academy was established in 2009 with the key aim of inspiring talented junior male athletes to realise their full potential in sporting life.

Oxy also sponsors the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Men’s Football program which provides support for the training and development of some of Australia’s best young football players.

‘The AIS Football program is proud to have OXY as a major sponsor. The sponsorship has allowed the program to expand its resources to develop our junior football players to elite level,’ Jan Versleijin, head coach of the AIS Football program said.

The Oxy Academy ran a national competition this year for junior male athletes aged 13–20 years to win an exclusive training session with an AIS Sports program in football (soccer), cricket, Australian football and rugby league.

As part of this year’s Oxy Academy competition Justin Vallario of Kingsgrove in Sydney was thrilled to win a training session with the AIS Men’s Football program in Canberra in February.

‘It was exciting to get a chance to train with from some of Australia’s best football talent at the Institute in Canberra,’ Vallario said.

‘I have gained valuable experience in speaking with the AIS coaches and learning new skills on how to improve my game.’

The 17-year-old Vallario is a member of the Dulwich Hill Football Club in the Super Youth League in Sydney and has progressed steadily through the development pathway at the local club level.

Justin started playing football at the local club level for the Earlwood Wanderers Football Club from 2001 to 2002.

He has also played in the under 14, 15 and 16 teams for the Sydney Olympic Football Club in the Premier Youth League from 2006 to 2008.

His ultimate goal is playing for a football club in the national A-League competition.
