The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) has announced the interim coaching arrangements for the men’s basketball program following Martin Clarke’s recent resignation from the head coaching role.

Clarke announced last month that he will leave the AIS in June to take up the Head coaching role with National Basketball League club the Adelaide 36ers.

From late June current men’s Assistant Coach Paul Gorriss will take over as Acting Head Coach and will remain in that position until the recruitment process for the Head Coach is completed.

Current Scholarship Coach Adam Caporn will assume the role of Acting Assistant Coach for that period.

The AIS program will work with Basketball Australia to encourage other coaches, particularly from Basketball’s National Intensive Training Centre network, to come in for short term placements when an extra coach is needed to cover the Scholarship coaching position as required.

It is anticipated that the formal recruitment process for the men’s Head Coach role will begin in June.
