Gomes and Wood, who are both members of the Australian U21 side, were named joint winners of the Institute’s Most Valuable Player (Gweneth Benzie Award).

While, Simmons took out the Anne Clarke Award with Sarah East named the Players Player of the Year.

‘The AIS netball program continues to give players the experience necessary to compete with distinction at both the national and international level,’ AIS netball head coach Sue Gaudion said.

‘Chanel, Stephanie, Verity and Sarah are testament of the quality of player that we have coming through the ranks.’

‘I have no doubt that among the current AIS squad there are players who will progress to represent Australia at the senior level.’
