The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) is pleased to announce the launch of the Multicultural Youth Sports Partnership Program (MYSPP) Grants.

The MYSPP will create more opportunities for young people from culturally diverse backgrounds to participate in safe, fun and inclusive sporting activities.

Under the three-year program, eligible organisations will be able to apply for grants of up to $50,000.

What can the Multicultural Youth Sports Partnership Program Grants be used for?

The grants could help off-set costs like membership fees, travel to sporting events, uniforms and coaching and officials’ costs for young multicultural athletes.

Who is eligible for the grant?

The applicant criteria are currently being confirmed by the ASC.

How much are the grants worth?

Grants between $5 000 and $50 000 will be provided to successful applicants to support the costs associated with building sport and physical activity in multicultural communities.

When can I apply for the grant?

Applications will open for a period of 4 weeks beginning in mid-April.

When will the successful applicants be advised?

The successful applicants for the 2011/12 Multicultural Youth Sports Partnership Program Grants will be announced in July 2011, with funding to be allocated to successful applicants immediately.
