16 Aug 2012

The 2012 Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Media Awards acknowledge excellence in sports journalism, broadcasting and photography within the Australian sports media industry.

Now in their eleventh year, the awards are Australia’s premier sports media celebration and the only awards dedicated to recognising excellence in sports media. They focus on analytical and insightful reporting and the presentation of sport and sporting issues, with the ultimate aim of fostering improved coverage of key issues within sport.
Acting ASC Chairman David Gallop said these awards deserved to be among the most respected in Australia.
“The media play a critical role in keeping Australia’s sport loving public up to date with what is happening across a huge range of sports,” Gallop said.

“The ASC media awards deserve their place among the most coveted for the sports media industry. It is fantastic that each year we can pay tribute to the finest examples of Australian sports journalism, broadcast and photography.”
