Full registration

To be awarded full registration the probationary community coach will be asked to plan, prepare and conduct a physical activity session of 60 minutes based on Playing for Life phyilosophy with a group of primary school children.  The probationary community coach will need to coordinate access to appropriate facilities and equipment, and must demonstrate competency as outlined within the Appraisal for Full Registration.  This constitutes the ‘application’ for Full Registration and there are no additional forms for the probationary community coach to complete as all relevant information will have been noted on the Probationary Registration Application.

The practical assessment will be conducted by the regional coordinator, school or Out of School Hours Care Service supervisor and has two possible outcomes:

  • Satisfactory - Community coach is competent and awarded full registration; or
  • Unsatisfactory  - Community coach needs to provide further evidence.

Where an unsatisfactory result is obtained, feedback will be provided directly to the probationary community coach to enable them to prepare for a future re-assessment.

Subject to achieving a ‘satisfactory’ outcome, the probationary community coach is awarded full registration and will receive a confirmation of full registration letter from the regional coordinator.

Full registration lasts for a period of two years. Prior to registration expiring, regional coordinators will contact community coaches to determine if they would like to renew their registration for another two years and continue as a community coach in the AASC program.

If a community coach does not renew their registration they will be ineligible to continue providing services in the AASC program. If they wish to return to the program at a later date they must contact their regional coordinator to discuss re-entry requirements. If it is not known who the regional coordinator is, contact can be made with the relevant zone administrator who will be able to assist.
