Managing unsatisfactory performance

Effective communication between the regional coordinator and community coach will assist with the smooth delivery of the Active After-school Communities (AASC) program and will enable issues to be dealt with as they arise.

If however, an issue is identified via an appraisal, discussions will be undertaken between the regional coordinator and the community coach to collaboratively develop a plan for raising the performance to an acceptable level. An appraisal outcome letter (first warning letter) will be forwarded to the community coach summarising the points discussed.

The regional coordinator will follow up with community coach regarding the agreed action plan and confirm a next appraisal date. If the following appraisal is satisfactory the community coach will be notified.

If, however, the appraisal is not satisfactory a discussion will be undertaken again with the community coach that the performance problem has not been satisfactorily resolved. In this instance a plan will be developed to help the community coach reach and sustain the standard required. An appraisal outcome letter (final warning letter) will be forwarded to the community coach summarising the points discussed.

If the follow up appraisal is still unsatisfactory then AASC initiated withdrawal procedures will begin.
