Engaging parents

Strategy

The Engaging Parents - Implementation Strategy has been developed to communicate with parents of children participating in the AASC program. This strategy is underpinned by four key communication messages:

  1. Engaging children in sport and structured physical activity
  2. Education of parents as to the benefits of the AASC, including the promotion of the impact of the AASC
  3. Links to local clubs
  4. Communication with parental groups – Parents and Friends Councils, school associations etc

Through planned coordination and implementation of the resources to support the key communication messages, it is anticipated that parents of participating AASC children will start to:

  • value the benefit of sport and the AASC program as a means for introduction into sport
  • understand and support the value of engaging children in sport and structured physical activity
  • be actively engaged in recruitment of children.

The Engaging Parents - Implementation Strategy  remains an integral part of the design and implementation phase of the AASC program. The resources below have been provided to assist schools and Out of School Hours Care Services with elements of the strategy.
