Equestrian

Equestrian Australia, in partnership with Pony Club Australia and the Australian Sports Commission, have developed a national junior participation program for young people who love horses, but don’t have a horse of their own.

Ready Set Trot – Playground Skills is a free program for children aged 5 to 12 which uses basic equipment and fun games to promote physical activity, while teaching children about horses and equestrian sports. AASC program schools, Out of School Hours Care Services (OSHCS) and community coaches can sign up for free program lesson plans, program delivery information, activity sheets and participant certificates through the Ready Set Trot website.

For AASC program schools and OSHCS who would like to explore additional equestrian programs, the Ready Set Trot – Stable Skills program can be delivered by accredited riding schools, clubs and equestrian and Pony Club coaches. More information about local programs and delivery centres can be found on the Ready Set Trot website.
