Netball
Netball Australia has partnered with the Australian Sports Commission to establish a process whereby coaches who have completed the Active After-school Communities (AASC) Community Coach Training Program have the opportunity to be awarded the Netball Australia Foundation Coach Accreditation (previously Level 1) under the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS).
The Foundation Coaching Accreditation is the first step in Netball Australia’s coaching accreditation framework and is an accredited course with the NCAS.
Netball Australia, in partnership with the Australian Sports Commission, has also developed a national junior program called NetSetGO! for children 5 to 10 years of age. NetSetGO! has been developed to provide children with an introduction to the sport of netball through fun and safe games and activities and modified equipment and rules.
AASC program schools, Out of School Hours Care Services and community coaches can utilise the coaching resources and purchase NetSetGo! equipment to use when delivering activities in the AASC program or they may use some lessons that precede NetSetGO! also developed by Netball Australia.
Teachers can also sign up to the NetSetGo! Schools Ambassador Program, which has been designed to ensure that netball has a continuous presence at schools. The program offers some exciting benefits to registered ambassadors and it’s free.
The Netball Companion book, which should be used with the Playing for Life Resource Kit, can also be used by AASC netball coaches who are delivering in the AASC program.
