Gymnastics

Companion_book_-_GymnasticsGymnastics Australia partnered with the Australian Sports Commission to develop a Gymnastics Companion Book that can be used by community coaches in the Active After-school Communities (AASC) program. This book should be used in conjunction with the Playing for Life Resource Kit.

The activities in the eight week program have been designed in line with the Playing for Life philosophy. This places an emphasis on providing safe, fun, engaging activities that ensure maximum participation from all children regardless of their level of ability.

LaunchPad, AEROSkools and TEAM Cheer programs provide entry-level participation and pathway opportunities for children interested in continuing their gymnastics experience after participating in the AASC program. LaunchPad programs have been designed to provide children with the opportunity to practise, develop and enjoy movement through a wide range of fundamental gymnastics activities that will help them to develop physcially, socially and cognitively while AEROSkools and TEAM Cheer are exciting programs that aim to encourage participation and improve coordination and fitness through aerobics and cheerleading activities.
