Count Me In

What is it about?

The Count Me In module contains the core values and philosophies that underpin the Disability Education Program.

The module shows through interactive workshop sessions and practical activities how easy it is to be inclusive.

In every group of people doing physical activity and sport there will be a range of abilities. The strategies explored in Count Me In will provide teachers, coaches, community sport leaders and others with ideas that will not only help them to include more people with disabilities in what they do, but also those whose abilities are developing at a different rates.

Who is it for?

Count me In is a general awareness workshop suitable for anyone interested or involved in the provision of opportunities in physical activity and sport that includes people with disabilities.

The workshop will benefit people who are involved in providing sport and physical activity programs that currently include people with disabilities, or could do in the future.

  • understand how people with disabilities can be disadvantaged in sport and physical activity
  • observe, through practical activities, the concept of disadvantage, and how we can adapt and modify regular activities to suit individual needs
