    How do I find out what programs are being conducted in which state?

    How does a community get a sports program started?

    If there is interest in your community or school for a particular sport please contact the state sporting organisation or local Indigenous Sport Development Officer and they can help you to develp a program.

    Who owns the traditional games package?

    The Australian Sports Commission

    Do I need permission from the Australian Sports Commission to use the traditional games package?

    No. The traditional games package is able to be downloaded and used by anyone. However, the games are not able to be used for any financial gain by organisations or individuals.

    Who can deliver the cross cultural awareness package?

    Presenters that have been identified and trained by the Australian Sport Commission

    Can the packages be purchased?

    No. This package is only available to be presented by an indentified person that has received specialised training.

    On the completion of the cross cultural course do I received a certificate?

    No. This course is not certified because it has been established to offer understanding, appreciation and awareness of Indigenous culture.

    Who can apply for funding through the Elite Indigenous Travel and Accommodation Assistance Program (EITAAP)?

    Any Indigenous sportsperson who is selected for a state team to compete at an official national championships or an Australian team to compete internationally.

    Who is not able to apply for EITAAP funding?

    Sportspeople selected in Indigenous only teams, commerical tour operations, local or regional teams. As well as any sportspeole attending any other event apart from official national champions. See EITAAP application for full guidelines.

    What does EITAAP cover?

    For national events it covers accommodation up to $70 per night and travel to arrive at host city/town (maximum air travel is equivalent to a 14-day advance purchase airfare from Qantas). For international events it covers accommodation up to $100 per night and air travel equivalent to a Qantas seasonal international airfare. The EITAAP does not cover costs for selection trials, pre-competition camps, uniforms, meals or any other expenses apart from basic travel and accommodation.

    Who is the sponsoring organisation?

    Your associated state or national sporting organisation will be required to act as the sponsring organisation. Indigenous organisations are unable to act as a sponsoring organisation . In all cases, the funding will be transferred to the organisation and then either passed onto your family or pay the travel and accommodation portion of your levy for the event.

    How do I submit an application?

    Once your selection has been confirmed, complete the applicants section of the application form and attach a letter of selection confirming your selection in the team, cost breakdown outlining air travel, ground travel and accommodation expenses and a Confirmation of Aboriginality (if it has not already been supplied). Once you have all this information, pass it all on to the sponsoring organisation so they can complete their section and instruct them to forward the fully completed application form and supporting documentation to the Australian Sports Commission Indigenous Sport Unit.
