Staying accredited
The length of time an accreditation with the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) is valid, is determined by the sport, for each level.
NCAS coaches are required to stay up to date, and re-accredit before the expiry of their current accreditation. The process of updating helps to ensure:
- accredited coaches are actively coaching
- coaches stay abreast of rule changes, safety requirements and technique changes in their sport
- there is an up-to-date register of active coaches in Australia.
Updating
Policy and fees
Each national sporting organisation (NSO) develops an updating policy outlining the requirements for each level of accreditation. The policy outlines the activities, procedures and fees required to update your accreditation.
Recording updating activities
Updating activities must be recorded as specified by the NSO. All documentation relating to updating should be sent directly to the orgainsation specified in the updating policy.
What happens if you don’t re-accredit?
If you do not complete the updating requirements as specified by your NSO, you will not be recognised as an accredited NCAS coach. Special considerations should be discussed with your sport.
If your accreditation has already expired, and you wish to re-accredit, contact your NSO.
