“When are we going to play a game?” is a question that children often ask the coach at the start of each training session. Games are a fantastic way for participants to learn the skills of a sport. Coaches can use games in a number of ways within a training session – e.g. as warm up activities, to help participants learn skill and tactical concepts, and to keep participants actively engaged in a session, rather than standing in long lines waiting for a turn. 

The Australian Sports Commission has developed several game card resources that are available for purchase. Below are some sample cards from two of these publications. You can purchase both resources through ASC Publications.
