Prior learning

People who wish to complete an accreditation through the National Coaching or Officiating Accreditation Scheme (NCAS or NOAS) may apply to the relevant national sporting organisation for Recognition of Prior Learning or Current Competence (RPL/RCC). Recognition can be given for all or part of an accreditation, through a process of comparing the candidate’s skills against the required competencies of the particular accreditation program.

RPL/RCC identifies that people can achieve competence in many different ways including; work and life experience, formal education and training. RPL/RCC takes into account a person’s skills and experiences, no matter how these were acquired.

You can apply for RPL/RCC if you think already have the competencies of a particular accreditation program. Contact your national sporting organisation for more information.
