  • Currently in Australia there are over 30,500 community members who have been trained by AASC staff in the Community Coach Training Program since 2005
  • A network of AASC coordinators is situated all over Australia, making the program work at a local level, with local communities
  • The AASC program spans Australia with 50 per cent of sites located in regional and remote areas
  • The AASC activity list is vast. At last count there were 85 traditional and non-traditional structured physical activities being delivered around Australia
  • Over 150,000 children have participated in the AASC program to date
  • There are over 3,200 schools and Out of School Hours Care Services (OSHCS) all around Australia implementing the AASC program
  • Over 48% of current AASC program sites are located in regional, remote and rural Australia. There are currently 435 sites involved in the AASC program that are either special schools or schools which cater for children with special needs.
  • As of term 3 2009, 1358 of sites across Australia participating in the AASC program are OSHCS and 1887 primary schools
  • 52% of participants are boys and 48% girls
  • The Alice Springs School of the Air uses technology effectively to run the AASC program once the kids have finished their lessons in the afternoon
