Deliverer Registration Requirements
Q. Who will deliver the structured physical activity programs within the schools/OSHCS?
A. Deliverers must be registered with the ASC to be able to deliver programs within the schools/OSHCS. Anyone may apply for registration – school teachers, OSHCS staff, development officers from NSOs/SSAs, local club personnel, local government staff, parents, private providers, senior secondary or tertiary students, high school students, etc.
Q. How may a deliverer become registered with the ASC?
A. The requirements for obtaining probationary registration are:
1. Satisfactory completion of a national police check
2. Completion of the AASC Community Coach Training Program. The training will be provided by the AASC program. (Some components can be completed online. See link below)
Q. Who will complete the police checks for deliverers?
A. Where states/territories have legislative requirements in relation to Working with Children, deliverers will be required to follow these processes. A summary of these requirements may be found at the link at the bottom of the page.
Where state/territories have not yet implemented working with children legislation, deliverers will be required to submit an Informed Consent for the Australian Sports Commission to conduct the check. The ASC is an accredited agency of CrimTrac, an Australian Government Agency that provides national police record checking services.
Q. What is the process after completing the registration requirements of the AASC program?
A. There are two types of registration with the AASC program – probationary and full. All deliverers after successfully completing their registration requirements will have a six month probationary period. During this time they will be required to complete a practical assessment.
Upon successfully completing this assessment task(s), deliverers will be provided with full registration. Full registration will be subject to satisfactory evaluation processes, completed by the Regional Coordinator, and will be valid for a period of two years.
Q. What are the benefits for deliverers?
A.
- Opportunity to be involved with a national program of the Australian Sports Commission
- Increasing awareness of the sport or organisation
- Increased membership opportunities
- Free training in Community Coaching and Playing for Life
- Opportunity to build local community partnerships
- Media exposure

Regional Coordinator Training Requirements
Q. What training will the regional coordinators be required to complete?
A. To ensure the regional coordinators are appropriately skilled in providing assessment and feedback, they will all complete Assessor Training from the Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training package. They will also complete the Train the Trainer version of the Community Coach Training Program.
Q. Who will be responsible for ensuring quality programs are delivered?
A. This will be one of the key responsibilities of the Regional Coordinator. They will conduct spot checks of all deliverers within their region and provide ongoing feedback and advice.
