Junior Sport

The vision for Australian Sports Commission's (ASC) Junior Sport Unit is to provide safe, enjoyable environments to encourage the long-term participation of young people.

Junior sport refers to the organisation and management of sport and pre-sport activities for young people aged 5 to 17 years. It is the most important time to nurture, educate and have fun with sport and is important because it provides the entry to a lifelong involvement in sport which is increasingly important with our changing lifestyles.

This website contains information about or will direct you to where you can obtain information about everything from grassroots participation to elite training tips, child harassment and protection laws, junior sport policies, resources and other helpful hints related to junior sport.

There is also a secure section designed specifically for National Sporting Organisations to share ideas, learnings and participate in junior sport related discussion forums.
