Game description

What you need (setting up)
- 12 x cones or markers.
- 1 x basket at each end or similar targets.
- 1 x size 5 basketball per team or a ball of a similar size.
What to do
- Form 2 even teams, one with bibs.
- Create 3 zones – 2 goal areas and a central line.
- Players pair up with a member of the opposing team.
- Players distribute themselves in pairs – one pair in each goal area and the other pairs in the middle zone.
- The goal defender of the attacking team starts with the ball.
- The ball must be passed to a team member in each zone.
- Defenders try to intercept the ball.
- Players in the goal area score by shooting a basket.
- The goal scorer (attacking player) is the only player who can shoot for a goal. Rotate this position after each goal is scored.
- Modified basketball rules apply.
- Teams must have a shot at the basket within 30 seconds.

Scoring
- First team to score a set target wins, e.g. 3, 5, 7.
- Option: An intercept can score a point too.
Change it
- To make it easier play without a time limit for shooting for a basket or change the goal to a bin, wall target or player standing on a mat.
- To make it harder players must shoot for a basket within a 3 second time limit
Safety
- Ensure adequate space for the number of players
- No body contact.
- Ball cannot be taken out of the hands of a player.
Ask the players
- Why is it harder to shoot a basket when you are being defended?
