Game description

In pairs, a player simulates an attacking move while their partner attempts to block.

What you need (setting up)

  • 1 x foam pool noodle or rolled up newspaper per pair.
  • 1 x tape/chalk to mark lines 4 or 5 metres in length per pair.

What to do

  • Each pair faces each other on a line.
  • 1 player assumes the role of attacker and simulates attacks while the other player is the defender and uses blocking movements to defend the attacks.
  • Players must stay on the line and may only move forward or backward along the line.
  • Ask players to change roles every 30 - 60 seconds.

•Use hands or feet to tap opponents with.

Safety

  • Light striking only.
  • If using hand or kicking techniques, enforce a safety zone between players to prevent contact being made.
