Game description

Gates are set up over a course. Player dribbles a ball around the course, passing between each gate.

What you need (setting up)

  • 8 - 10 x cones or markers to define a course.
  • 1 x football (soccer ball) per person or a ball of similar size.

What to do

  • Walk and dribble the ball the first time, run and dribble all other times.
  • Alternate the dribbling between the left and right foot each time through the course. 

Scoring

  • Count the number of times around the course in 30 seconds.

Change it

  • Dribble the ball around the cones instead of passing through them.
  • Change the dribbling foot at each gate.
  • Stop after passing through a gate, pull the ball backwards to the other side of the gate then move forward again.

Safety

  • Ensure the playing area is free of obstructions.

  • What might happen if you run too quickly when you are dribbling?
  • How do you maintain control of the ball?
