The International Working Group for Women and Sport (IWG) is pleased to invite abstract submissions for the 5th IWG World Conference on Women and Sport. The Conference will be held from Thursday 20 to Sunday 23 May 2010 at the main conference venue, Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, with the final day held in Sydney Olympic Park.

Her Excellency Ms Quentin Bryce AC, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia will act as Patron in Chief of this event, joined by the Hon. Michael Kirby AC CMG former Justice of the High Court of Australia as Patron.

The Conference Committee are calling on people to submit an abstract under the following themes:

  • women, sport and human rights
  • financing and media for gender equity
  • physical activity and health for women
  • sport and social change
  • engaging generation Y and Z in sport and physical activity.

Abstracts must be submitted online via the conference website and will be considered for oral and poster presentations.
