General principles

There are a range of general principles programs for coaching and officiating which cover elements that are common to all sports – for example, people management. Click on the tabs above to find out more about the coaching and officiating general principles programs available.

General principles programs are delivered primarily through state departments of sport and recreation. Some courses are also available through approved agencies (for example, schools)  and some courses can be completed online.

National Sporting Organisations (NSOs) can select modules from the general principles programs to include within their sport-specific accreditation programs.

Note: completion of the general principles component alone does not provide an accreditation. Each NSO determines the requirements for their sport to gain an accreditation.
