Development grants

The Australian Sports Outreach Program (ASOP) was launched in July 2006. ASOP has two grants programs:

  1. The Pacific Sport Development Grant Program
  2. The Targeted Countries Grants Program

Together, the grants programs provide opportunities for predominantly Commonwealth countries in the Pacific, southern Africa, Asia and the Caribbean to receive support for sport development initiatives.

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) works closely with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Australian diplomatic missions to promote grant programs in each of the countries that are eligible to apply.

Submissions for sport development grants are assessed by a committee comprised of representatives of the ASC and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
