Development grants

The Australian Sports Outreach Program (ASOP) is an Australian Government program that uses sport to address broader development priorities and community issues. The ASOP has two grant programs:

  1. Pacific Sport Development Grants
  2. Targeted Countries Sport Development Grants.

Together, the grants programs provide opportunities for predominantly Commonwealth countries in the Pacific, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean to receive support for sport development initiatives.

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) works closely with the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and Australian diplomatic missions to promote and manage grants programs in each of the eligible countries.

Submissions for sport development grants are assessed by a committee comprised of representatives from the ASC, AusAID and DFAT.

Pacific Sport Development Grants

The Pacific Sport Development Grants (PSDGs) are administered by Australian diplomatic missions. The program covers the South Pacific region, excluding Australia and New Zealand. For all information on the PSDGs, including current timelines and application forms, please visit the link below.
