The Australian Sports Commission’s Sports Coach and Official section is continuing to roll out the new Presenter/Facilitator Training Program with three more successful training workshops, which took place 15–17 May in three cities around Australia.

The Sports Coach and Official section conducted Presenter/Facilitator Training Program workshops for the Football Federation Australia in Melbourne, Surf Life Saving Australia in Sydney and Australian International Shooting in Canberra. Approximately 100 coach and official educators were trained during the weekend.

The new training program is the result of more than a year’s research and testing of presenter training best practice models, and curriculum and resource development. It builds on the original program, which is particularly effective in assisting sports to build their capacity and improve the quality of coaches and officials nationally.

Workshop participants were very pleased with the new program and the Sports Coach and Official section received positive feedback from all three national sporting organisations such as:

A big thank you to you all for your efforts on Friday and Saturday. The comments during the workshops and in the evaluations were all extremely positive. Your input has allowed us to increase our pool of presenters/assessors and should provide increased access to accreditation for coaches.

Thanks once again for all the assistance from the Australian Sports Commission at the Presenter/Facilitator training course held at North Bondi last weekend. The feedback I’ve received from the participants has been very positive and I’d like to think it’s going to have a positive effect on the way our courses are delivered.

The Sports Coach and Official section have run eleven Presenter/Facilitator workshops with national sporting organisations, as well as ten workshops with state departments of sport and recreation.
