Resilience.

Self-sacrifice.

Endurance.

Heart.

Ski cross is an action-packed race where four athletes compete head-to-head down a long course with turns,
jumps berms and more obstacles, as well as each other.

The most important part for me is the start; it's also my strength. If I can be out in front in the beginning then it
sets me up for a good race.

The next most important part is to be fast in those turns and make sure that you're making those landings on those big jumps really
smooth, and also reach as hard as you can over the finish line. First two that finish the round make it through.

To date, my biggest accomplishment is a second place at a world cup ski cross in February 2017.

That race was massive. It had the biggest jumps of the tour, it also had the highest speeds of our tour,
and it set me into a good frame of mind coming into Korea.

I'm really looking forward to the next five months ahead of me, I've got a lot of hard training and a lot of world cup
competitions leading into my second Olympic games.

The moment that the gate drops, I've got 100% tunnel vision.

I know that I'm racing against three other people but nothing else matters.

All I can focus on is making sure that I'm smooth and precise through the start features, through the turns and through the jumps all the way down to that finish line.

Hi, I'm Sami Kennedy-Sim and I compete in ski cross.
