Sideline Champions

Accommodation and Ticketing information

Like any multi-sport event, it can be a daunting task for a Sideline Champion planning their Games experience to ensure they don’t miss out – therefore, it is important to plan ahead. In this issue, we look at where you can secure accommodation and purchase tickets to events.

Accommodation

Sideline Champions planning their Games experience can explore an array of accommodation options, designed to suit all tastes and budgets spanning from the Gold Coast hinterland and to the basketball preliminary round host cities of Townsville and Cairns.

As we get closer to the Games, accommodation pricing and unavailability are constantly increasing. If you have yet to secure any accommodation or are waiting for team announcements, we suggest you take a look on the Gold Coast Organising Committee (GOLDOC) website which provides a comprehensive list of accommodation options.

Tickets

Tickets to events went on sale early in 2017, with the majority sold in the public ballet. On Friday 20 October, tickets went off-sale to allow organisers time to deliver an anticipated final major release of tickets. During the next month all tickets sales to date will be assigned specific seats across all sessions and once the seat assignment process is completed, remaining tickets - including those which have been made available following the finalisation of venue plans - will then be made available on November 20 on a first-come, first served basis via the GOLDOC website. If you haven’t purchased tickets, the Sideline Champions team encourages you to do so before it is too late.

Note – The Sideline Champions program does not arrange accommodation or tickets for family members and significant others. We can only provide you with information to help you plan your Games experience.
