Peta Forsyth

Where do you work and what is your role?

I am a Physiologist at the Australian Institute of Sport where I specialise in recovery and thermoregulation.

How many years have you worked in high-performance sport and what are some of your career highlights?

I have been working in high-performance sport for the past 5 years. I love being able to work with so many passionate and driven athletes and support staff.

What is your role in the CGA Team? 

I am the Recovery Services Manager for the Australian Team. I am responsible for coordinating Recovery, and providing recommendations and advice to assist athletes to recover from and prepare for competition.

What is your favourite memory from a Commonwealth Games?

It’s hard to go past Kerryn McCann at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games. I remember watching that incredible finish with my family on TV. It still gives me goosebumps to this day!

What does it mean to be an official at a home Games?

To be a part of a home Games is really special. It’s exciting to be able to witness the build-up to the Games, and I’m looking forward to celebrating the success of our athletes with the Australian public.
