The 2009 Australian Sports Commission Media Awards were held in Melbourne on Thursday 3 December in Studio 3 at Crown Casino. Winners have been announced with Les Murray from SBS receiving the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award for Contribution to Sports Journalism.

The Australian Sports Commission Media Awards — now in its eighth year — celebrates analytical and insightful presentation of sport and sporting issues by journalists, broadcasters and photographers.
