Jo Mitchell

Empowering people to know, love and grow their mind to live a meaningful and connected life.

Jo is a clinical & coaching psychologist who works with people to live well, find meaning and strive for valued life goals. She has over 25 years sport industry experience, including working with UK Sport, British Olympic Association, AFL Players Association, AIS, SASI and Orienteering Tasmania.

Jo has a focus on working with high performers, particularly managing life and work transitions, mental illness and burnout. Jo has expertise in wellbeing science – including positive psychology, ACT and mindfulness – and completed her PhD in this field. She loves technology and led the team behind MindMax, a digital resilience and wellbeing app, with AFL Players, Movember and QUT. In a (very) past life she was an Australia representative distance runner but now sticks to a more leisurely MTB ride or hike.

I'm stealing these words from Oscar Wilde - to really live is the rarest thing, most people simply exist. This AIS mental health service is an opportunity to get to know yourself and how your mind impacts your health, wellbeing and performance in life. To not just survive, but thrive.
