Paddle. The University of Adelaide. Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering.
I am enrolled in a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in 2025 because I have always been fascinated by how things work and enjoy solving complex problems. This degree aligns with my passion for designing, building, and innovating, giving me critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will be valuable in any career path.
Alongside my studies, I am highly dedicated to canoe sprint (kayak) racing, with aspirations to be selected for the National Centre of Excellence for Canoe Sprint on the Gold Coast. My ultimate goal is to represent Australia at the Junior World Championships, Senior World Championships, and the Olympics. I also enjoy surf lifesaving. I recognise the importance of a solid education, especially given the unpredictable nature of elite sports. A degree in Mechanical Engineering provides me with a strong foundation beyond my athletic career, ensuring I have diverse opportunities in the future.
Beyond securing future opportunities, I am drawn to engineering’s potential to make a real difference in people’s lives. I look forward to working on projects that involve innovation and problem-solving, whether in sports technology or other industries. This degree will allow me to pursue my academic interests while balancing my commitment to elite sport, setting me up for a successful and fulfilling future.
