Triathlon. Griffith University. Bachelor of Biomedical Science.
I am currently enrolled in Biomedical Science at Griffith University Gold Coast, and I selected this course as a stepping stone to my eventual dream to become a doctor. Studying biomedicine at Griffith Gold Coast provides a health focused bachelors degree that acts as essential foundational knowledge to complete a Doctor of Medicine. With weekly laboratories, exposure to cadaveric specimens, and real life case studies, my degree has given me essential exposure to the world of healthcare and science, studying topics from cells and genes, to anatomy and chemistry.
Not only is biomedical science important to my career trajectory, but I am excited about the classes and I dedicate myself wholeheartedly to my study. To find enjoyment in the first university course you enrol in is rare, but I have found passion for cardiology and anaesthesiology, learnt about the fundamentals of chemistry, and studied the entire human anatomy and physiology across a mere 3 courses. With so much learning opportunity, and the constantly evolving nature of science and healthcare, due to regular technological breakthroughs, I selected this degree to propel myself into a consistently groundbreaking and societally essential career path.
I am currently enrolled in two classes: a physiology and a cells course, and both are regularly challenging my understanding of the human body and amazing me with its unique adaptations that provide the basis to human existence. Although initially I selected this course because of enjoyment of chemistry, and it was important for my job progression to medicine, ultimately my further study is fostering a passion for the sciences, and encouraging me to remain curious and challenge myself, working hard to maintain high standards of work and consistently participate in workshops and classes.
