Football. The University of New South Wales. Bachelor of Commerce.
I am a first-year student at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), studying a Bachelor of Commerce. For this term, I am specifically enrolled in three courses including myBCom Blueprint, Business Decision Making and Evidence-Based Problem Solving. These foundational subjects introduce me to core business principles, critical thinking and data-driven decision making, which is essential as I progress through my degree.
I chose this Degree as I believe it will provide me with a strong foundation in finance, accounting, marketing and management, therefore equipping me with business skills that will benefit both my football career and long-term professional aspirations. I haven’t yet decided on what I want to major in, but I am leaning towards Finance and Accounting, as I enjoy working with numbers and solving problems which align with both fields.
As a professional soccer player in the A-League Women, I understand the importance of management and career planning beyond football. Women’s football is rapidly evolving, and I want to position myself for success both during and after my playing career. Studying Commerce will allow me to explore opportunities in business management, entrepreneurship, and investment, ensuring that I can make informed financial and business decisions.
I want to be someone who can excel in both my studies and sport, and I believe that this Degree will allow me to push myself to achieve that excellence.
