Judo. Deakin University. Bachelor of Property and Real Estate / Bachelor of Commerce.
I am enrolled in a Bachelor of Property and Real Estate/Bachelor of Commerce. This combined course offers many different career paths in the financial and property industries.
I chose this course because I'm really interested in finance, business, and property development. The Property and Real Estate part of the course covers property investment and development, property economics, property law, and more. The Commerce part focuses on accounting, finance, marketing, management and more. The program includes some industry experience through practical learning opportunities where we're exposed to professional practice and have the opportunity to meet people in the industry. This means that we can build relationships and internships and learn from leaders in the field.
I believe that learning the skills offered by this course will be valuable, from both a career perspective, as well as in life in general. At this stage in my life, I'm building the foundation for my career and life, and these financial and property skills will help me make good decisions about investing, buying property, and managing money throughout my life. With this double degree, I'll have lots of job options when I graduate. Some of these include working as an accountant, asset manager, business analyst, economist, facilities manager, financial planner, human resource manager, international trade officer, marketing manager, owners' corporation manager, property valuer, property developer, portfolio manager, or property advisor.
Having so many career choices is important to me while I figure out exactly what I want to do. The practical skills from this course will prepare me for the real working world and make it easier for me to choose a career path that suit my strengths.
