Netball. Edith Cowan University. Bachelor of Science (Exercise and Sports Science).
I have chosen this course as the first step toward my long-term ambition of becoming an Occupational Therapist. My goal is to transfer into the Occupational Therapy Undergraduate Course at Edith Cowan University once I have accumulated enough credits. I have discussed this pathway with the admissions team and have carefully selected units most relevant to Occupational Therapy to ensure a smooth transition when the time comes.
My interest in Occupational Therapy has grown through both my elite netball career and my work experience. As a high-performance netball athlete, I have faced and managed injuries, which has given me firsthand insight into rehabilitation and recovery processes. This experience has deepened my understanding of the importance of movement, function, and tailored rehabilitation in helping individuals return to their best physical condition. Additionally, my part-time role as a receptionist at West Coast Occupational Therapy in Edgewater has exposed me to the profession in a real-world setting. Engaging with therapists, seeing how they work and meeting clients has reinforced my passion for pursuing a career in this field.
By starting this course, I am building a strong foundation in human movement, rehabilitation, and health sciences, all of which will support my future studies and career as an Occupational Therapist. I am excited to take this step and look forward to the opportunities it will provide as I work toward my ultimate goal.
