Hockey. Griffith University. Diploma of Education.
I am currently enrolled in the Diploma of Education, a foundational program designed to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for the education sector. This course serves as a pathway, enabling seamless progression into a Bachelor of Education degree, where I can specialise in areas such as primary or secondary education. Alternatively, I can use the Diploma directly to work as a Teacheraid on completion.
I selected this course because of its practical approach, which emphasises job readiness and hands-on experience. Diplomas often allow students to enter specific job markets quickly, typically within one to two years, compared to the longer duration of bachelor's degrees. This is beneficial for me as I will be travelling both interstate and internationally in the coming years as a member of the Australian Hockey Team.
This course also aligns with my career goals, as I aim to begin working in the education field while training in the lead up to 2026 FIH Women's Hockey world cup and 2028 LA Olympics. Additionally, the Diploma of Education offers flexibility, allowing me to tailor my studies to suit my training and travel schedule.
