Swimming. University of Wollongong. Bachelor of Primary Education.
The Bachelor of Primary Education at the University of Wollongong is a four-year program that focuses on educating the “whole child,” promoting their development into lifelong learners. The course aims to create reflective, professional teachers who can effectively work in diverse classrooms. It combines theoretical learning with practical placements, starting in the second year, offering invaluable hands-on experience in real classroom environments.
As a full-time student in 2025, I will study a range of foundational subjects such as mathematics, language, human development, science, and indigenous geographies. These subjects will provide me with a broad understanding of the key components involved in primary education and prepare me for the dynamic and ever-changing nature of teaching. The blend of academic and practical experiences will help me grow into a confident and capable educator.
My passion for teaching comes from the positive relationships I’ve had with educators and coaches. They’ve not only taught me valuable skills but have inspired me to help others achieve their potential, as I have in swimming. I have been fortunate to have mentors who share my passion, commitment and drive for success, qualities that will serve me well in my teaching career.
I view teaching not as just a profession but as a vocation, allowing me to make a meaningful impact on children’s lives. I plan to emphasize the importance of balance in life, encouraging students to maintain a healthy mix of academics, sports, passion, proper nutrition, and good sleep habits. I am confident that the knowledge and skills gained from this program will enable me to create a positive, supportive learning environment for all my future students.
