I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Education (Primary and Secondary) at the Australian Catholic University (ACU) online. I chose this course because I have always had a deep admiration for my teachers and the impact they had on my life. Their support and encouragement pushed me to strive for more, and I want to provide that same inspiration to future students. Education has the power to shape lives, and I believe that by becoming a teacher, I can help others reach their potential and develop into confident, capable individuals.

This course is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to teach across both primary and secondary school settings. It covers essential aspects of educational theory, curriculum planning, classroom management, and student engagement. Additionally, it includes practical placements that allow for real-world teaching experience. The learning outcomes of the course include developing strong pedagogical skills, understanding diverse learning needs, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. These skills are highly valuable, not only for classroom teaching but also for leadership roles within the education sector.

My long-term goal is to become a head of sport or an elite sports coach. Education is an excellent pathway for this because it provides the necessary skills in leadership, communication, and mentoring. Teaching is not just about delivering content—it’s about motivating and guiding students, which is crucial in coaching as well. Understanding how students learn, how to foster discipline and teamwork, and how to inspire confidence are all key aspects of both education and sports leadership. By pursuing this degree, I am building a strong foundation that will allow me to influence young athletes, help them grow, and possibly guide them toward elite sporting careers.
