Bowls. La Trobe University. Bachelor of Education.
I am currently enrolled full time at Latrobe University in Bendigo undertaking a Bachelor of Education with a major in Early Childhood and Primary Teaching. This course is four years in duration and each year sees the study of eight subjects, ranging from general education to a more specialised outlook on early childhood and primary aspects. The learning outcomes associated are those that enable me to design learning environments that suit the needs of all learners, benefit from a supportive network and acquire valuable skills to launch my career.
Growing up and even still to this day I have been fortunate to experience my mother caring for children of all ages ranging from 3 months to 13 years at our own home. Through this exposure I developed a deep passion for caring for others, especially those of the younger years. I value the importance of a significant role model in a child’s life to encourage them to try new things and explore their individual capabilities in the learning space. Walking through the journey alongside children and seeing them develop and overcome hard challenges as an educator/teacher signifies the diverse learning patterns that exist within the learning environments.
I decided to choose this combined course as it showcases my strengths and passion towards children and providing them with foundation skills to strive for excellence in life and learning. I will be completing my studies at the end of 2026 where it will enable me to become a qualified Early Childhood educator and/or Primary School Teacher. I cannot wait to create an environment where children feel confident in exploring and developing their learning to become the best versions of themselves. This is why I chose a Bachelor of Education, to support children firsthand in achieving greatness regardless of what that looks like.
