Athletics. The University of Western Australia. Bachelor of Biological Science and Master of Biological Science.
I am currently pursuing a combined Bachelor of Biological Science and Master of Biological Science, majoring in Wildlife Conservation at the University of Western Australia. My decision to undertake this program stems from my profound passion for environmental sustainability and wildlife protection. Growing up in Perth, Western Australia, I cultivated a deep connection with nature and developed a keen interest in preserving biodiversity.
This course perfectly aligns with my career aspirations of contributing to conservation science and protecting endangered species and ecosystems. I am particularly drawn to working on breeding programs and studying animal behaviour to enhance successful breeding outcomes. Additionally, the flexible structure of this program and the support provided by the university allow me to effectively balance my demanding athletic commitments as a Paralympic sprinter with my academic pursuits.
Pursuing this degree while competing as a Paralympic athlete provides a unique opportunity for holistic growth. My studies in wildlife conservation are intellectually stimulating and align with my long-term career goals. Simultaneously, my athletic journey has instilled invaluable qualities such as discipline, resilience, and a strong work ethic, skills that are transferable to both academic and professional environments. Financial support would enable me to better manage my time, maintain peak physical condition, and excel in my coursework. This comprehensive development will empower me to serve as a role model for aspiring para-athletes and individuals with disabilities, demonstrating that excellence in both sport and education is attainable. Ultimately, this scholarship would allow me to reach my full potential and make a meaningful contribution to environmental conservation and the wider community.
