Sailing | The University of Melbourne | Master of Environmental Engineering

I am currently completing a Master of Environmental Engineering at the University of Melbourne. I chose this degree because it combines my strengths in mathematics and science with my passion for the natural environment, a connection that is also central to my sailing career. Sailing is one of the most financially demanding Olympic sports. Athletes are required to self-fund essential equipment, including boats, sails, and ongoing maintenance, with sails often being replaced after two or three regattas. With this level of investment required to remain internationally competitive, financial support for my education would significantly reduce the overall pressure. It would allow me to focus more effectively on both my academic performance and my sporting preparation and maintain a healthier and more sustainable balance between the two.
