Evie Saunders

I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Engineering majoring in Renewable Energy at UTS. Iwas drawn to this degree from my experience as a professional sailor where I spend so much time on the water analysing how to use the wind as effectively as possible. This naturally led to me being interested in renewable energy as essentially it’s the same thing but on a much bigger scale.

The concept of winning well is something that really resonates with me. For me, studying gives me so much purpose beyond my sport. It provides balance, in that after a tough training session or long camp, I can focus on something different. It’s the reset I need to switch off from the pressure of performance and come back to sport more focused.
