Luke Ryan

I am in my third year of a Bachelor of Data Science at QUT, majoring in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and Business Data Science. Since leaving Brisbane at 18 to pursue beach volleyball opportunities at the AIS and later joining the men's national program in Adelaide, I have balanced the demands of high performance sport with university study while supporting myself financially and competing internationally for Australia.

I aspire to demonstrate that sport and education can coexist with excellence. This scholarship will help ease the financial burden of my studies, allowing me to continue pursuing success in beach volleyball ahead of the LA2028 Olympics while simultaneously gaining the skills for a meaningful career beyond sport.
