The financial pressure of being a student athlete with negligible income is not simply a matter of covering costs. It is a persistent cognitive load that sits alongside every training session and lecture. The AIS Athlete Education Scholarship would lift that weight, allowing me to direct my full energy toward the things that matter: competing at the highest level and building the academic foundation for a career in high finance.

Studying a Bachelor of Commerce will provide me something I did not realise I was missing: a sense of purpose entirely outside the pool. The progress I make academically and the path I am building toward a career in high finance generate an accomplishment separate from, and complementary to, my sporting identity. On the days when training is hard and results feel distant, I can point to something else I am genuinely proud of.
