The connection between UNE and Clem Jones was that he used to travel to UNE’s Armidale campus to play cricket with his UQ cricket team. He met and made friends with people connected to UNE. Open to ALL new commencing and continuing students (with preference shown to undergraduate applicants). The applicant is an athlete in any sport with achievements at Outstanding (national/international) level and be able to demonstrate financial need.

Regional Australia Bank Sporting Scholarship provides $2,000 + a SportUNE gym membership (pro-rata for part-time). The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of sporting ability and achievements, Academic merit a statement of case. Further consideration would be given for those applicants that have a permanent home address in specific NSW towns which  have Regional Australia Bank branches.

In doing so, these scholarships are intended to foster the continued growth and development of NIAS alumni to achieve their maximum potential beyond the sporting arena within the Northern Inland region.

The purpose of these scholarships is to improve the quality of UON sporting teams, raise the University's profile through sport, and establish a standard of excellence to complement the University's academic achievements.

This scholarship was established in 1994 to support students with demonstrated sporting ability and potential, and encourage their contribution to the sporting achievements of the university. The purpose of this scholarship is to improve the quality of our sporting teams, raise the university’s profile through sport, and establish a standard of excellence to complement our academic achievements. Students are able to represent the university in a wide range of sports as members of sporting clubs or at inter-university competitions. It is the intention of this scholarship that the successful recipient will be active on campus and/or participate in inter-university competitions, representing the university at local, district, and national levels in their chosen sport.

Col Whitehead represents the ideal of every sports club. A great athlete, an excellent cricketer, a generous and supportive team member, a man with great respect for the traditions and values that underpin every sport, in this case, cricket. It is the intention of this scholarship that the successful recipient will be a contributing member and role model to other team members of the Newcastle University cricket club. Students must be enrolled in any year of any undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Newcastle, and be a member of, and play cricket with the University of Newcastle Cricket Club.

Western Sydney University Connect offers sports scholarships to students either entering or continuing an undergraduate or postgraduate course. The University is a member of the Australian Sports Commission's Elite Athlete Friendly University (EAFU) Network. This Elite Athlete support program is aimed at providing support to athletes to balance their sporting and academic commitments whilst at the University. Scholarship recipients will also receive financial assistance and have access to modern fitness facilities, academic counselling, personal development seminars, academic support and liaison, networking links and other opportunities.
