I wanted to be involved in the AIS Mental Fitness Program because mental fitness is something I have come to understand the importance of through my own experiences in sport. Competing in a high-performance environment and navigating several significant injuries has taught me that the mental side of sport can be just as challenging as the physical. Earlier in my career, I focused almost entirely on physical preparation and rarely thought about the importance of developing resilience, managing pressure, or speaking openly about how I was feeling.

Over time, my perspective has shifted and I have come to appreciate how important it is to take care of your mental wellbeing alongside your physical health. I am passionate about helping create an environment where athletes and young people feel comfortable talking about mental health and seeking support when they need it. Through the Mental Fitness Program, I hope to contribute to normalising these conversations and encouraging others to recognise that mental fitness is an important part of both performance and everyday life.
